The Iowa Department of Education has changed the total maximum request from $30,000 to $50,000 that a district could apply for in the computer science curriculum grants. It also may be distributed across grade bands as the district sees fit.
The Computer Science Professional Development Incentive Funds are now available. Districts, accredited nonpublic schools, or collaboratives of one or more schools districts/accredited nonpublic schools can submit applications to build the capacity of Iowa schools to provide high quality computer science instruction.
Effective January 2022, the endorsement portion of funding may cover the Computer Science endorsement as well as the 5-12 CTE Information Technology endorsement. Educators receiving the 5-12 CTE Information Technology endorsement may also apply for the Computer Science endorsement through the Board of Educational Examiners.
Linked here is the computer science document for PLAEA that has the specific information for both of these grant opportunities.
